We will investigate a variety of narrative art, art that tells stories visually, from many cultures and time periods. We will read a painting, and see the power of art to teach stories in many realms- mythical, biblical, historical, and personal.
Throughout time and place, artists have used symbols and allegory to create dramatic markers of important beliefs and events. Become familiar with some iconic works of art and what they have to say; learn how to enter, listen to, enjoy, and understand the language of art. Be entertained by the stories too!
