Portrait Drawing from A Photograph
Bring a photo of someone whom you would like to draw. We will loosely sketch by looking at the larger shapes and values, directional energy, and accurate placement of details, until a realistic portrait begins to emerge. Viewing the image upside down will assist in seeing contrast and angles as we use mark making and our eraser to build a three dimensional looking face upon two dimensional paper. Participants will leave with increased confidence in their ability to represent what they see in pencil, and a recognizable drawing of their chosen image.
Marla Faith is a Nashville artist (marlafaith.com), who has over 40 years teaching experience in schools and museums in Nashville New York, and Chicago
** Classes are transferrable, but not refundable.
